Bio
Jazz singer, pianist, composer and educator, Eva Blossom stands out for her originality and musical sensibility. Renowned for her unique sound, she has performed at important jazz festivals and theaters through Europe and the USA.
Eva Blossom earned her degree in Classical Piano with the Outstanding Graduate of the Year award. After deciding to pursue a life as a jazz musician she moved to the Netherlands, awarded with a merit-based scholarship. There she studied jazz singing as part of the program “New York Comes to Groningen” at the prestigious Prins Claus Conservatorium, earning her degree in Jazz Vocals and studying with musicians such as Dena DeRose, JD Walter, Don Braden, Freddie Bryant, Joris Teepe, Kurt Weiss, David Berkman…
She moved to New York for a new artistic period. She became involved in the musical scene of the city, learning from jazz legends such as: Jay Clayton, Barry Harris, Bob Stoloff, Gretchen Parlato, Janet Lawson… While she was living in New York, she continued her education at The University of The Arts (UARTS) in Philadelphia, studying jazz singing with Justin Binek and Mary Ellen Desmond.
Finalist at some of the finest jazz competitions in Europe: the European Jazz Contest in Milan (Italy) presenting her original compositions and the International Jazz Vocal Competition “Riga Jazz Stage” in Riga (Latvia).
She returned to Spain and became the jazz vocal teacher at CAMM, the first jazz school in the south of Spain. She has also taught jazz singing at EMMAT, as well as in different seminars, didactic concerts and masterclasses. In 2019 she pioneered as the first jazz vocal teacher at the first conservatory to introduce a Jazz Bachelor in Andalusia.
Very determined and active artist, Eva Blossom loves performing in a wide variety of settings and has participated as a vocalist in multiple projects.
She has recently finished her Master of Music Research, with a thesis on the Jewish and Afro-American influence on Harold Arlen’s music. Her insight into the history of jazz along with a fascination for further musical explorations fill her performances with sincere interpretations.
